Objectives: The Second-level University Master’s Program in “Facial and Smile Aesthetics” aims to provide graduates in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics with high-quality university-level training in the specific field of facial and smile aesthetics.Law No. 26 of May 26, 2023, which converted Decree-Law No. 34 of March 30, 2023, into law, extends to graduates in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics the possibility of performing aesthetic medicine treatments on the entire face.
This has created a new need to provide appropriate university-level training for dentists who wish to practice aesthetic medicine, limited to the face.
A dentist holding a Master’s degree in Facial and Smile Aesthetics will be able to expand their professional practice by offering patients non-invasive or minimally invasive treatments aimed at enhancing facial and smile aesthetics, ensuring both competence and safety.

Duration: 1 year
Credits: 60 ECTS. Attendance of the Master’s program exempts participants from the ECM (Continuing Medical Education) requirement for the academic year.
Educational Activities: Lectures, practical exercises, and seminars delivered by university professors, professionals, and field experts. A minimum attendance of 80% is required.
Location: University of Sassari
Internship: Cadaver Lab at ICLO, Verona, for the study of anatomical structures through dissection, correlated with aesthetic medicine injection procedures. Additional clinical and congress-related internship activities are included.
Admission Requirements: Open to graduates in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics.
Available Places: Maximum of 20. Selection is based on qualifications.
Degree Awarded: Preparation and defense of a final thesis.
Title: Second-level University Master’s Degree in “Facial and Smile Aesthetics”. The Master’s degree has legal recognition and can be registered in the National Registry of the FNOMCEO.
