CRISMENC is dedicated to advancing the study and development of Aesthetic Medicine, Nutraceuticals, and Cosmetology, both in terms of basic scientific research and clinical applications.

Its main areas of study include:

• Clinical, macroscopic, and microscopic anatomy as preparatory knowledge for aesthetic medical practice and for the use of surface, injectable, and technological medical devices and drugs;
• Interactions between topical, injectable, and technological medical devices and human tissues, mainly skin and subcutaneous tissue;
• Characteristics and effects of topical, injectable, and technological medical devices on different body regions, from both biological and clinical-aesthetic perspectives;
• Characteristics and effects of botulinum toxin in its various formulations, both in on-label aesthetic indications and in off-label uses;
• Interactions between energy-based stimuli (laser, radiofrequency, ultrasound, etc.) and biological substrates, and the resulting clinical outcomes;
• Biocompatibility, tolerability, immunogenicity, allergenicity, and microbiological aspects of topical and injectable medical devices and cosmetic preparations;
• Study of biological phenomena related to aging and the effects of aesthetic medical therapies, cosmeceutical treatments, and wellness medicine on these processes;
• Investigation of the role and effects of food and nutraceuticals in wellness and aging phenomena, both cutaneous and systemic;
• Study of regenerative medicine applications in Aesthetic Medicine;
• Research on the hydrogeological, chemical, and microbiological properties of thermal, marine, and mineral waters, and their therapeutic and aesthetic medical applications.
