Quality Assurance In line with AVA 3 (the Periodic Accreditation Model for University Campuses and Degree Programs), Departments are required to develop and approve, in accordance with University policies, an internal quality management system concerning research and third mission activities, as well as – in compliance with the responsibilities of the University Quality Assurance (QA) system – teaching activities, including doctoral programs.Departments are therefore responsible for all activities aimed at achieving quality objectives in teaching, research, third mission/social impact, and postgraduate education.Within this framework, the Department of Biomedical Sciences acts as a direct promoter and is responsible for managing teaching activities, postgraduate education, research, and initiatives related to the third mission and social impact. Quality Assurance Structure and Responsibilities within Departments The organizational structure responsible for implementing QA policies at the departmental level is composed of the Department Director, the Department Board and the Department Council.In addition, each Department, in order to ensure the proper functioning of the QA process and based on its own needs and specificities, may establish working groups, committees, or appoint dedicated QA officers.Specifically, the Department of Biomedical Sciences has appointed:the Contact person for Quality Assurance (RAQ-D)Serves as the key reference for the QA process at departmental level, with the task of collaborating with the Coordinators of the Teaching Committee, the Research Committee, and the Third Mission/Social Impact Committee, to ensure the coordination of all activities aimed at continuous improvement. the Teaching Committeeis responsible for planning and coordinating the Department’s teaching activities.
