PhD Day in Medical, Surgical and Experimental Sciences – 18th Edition

The Deparment of Biomedical Sciences, with the support of the Fondazione di Sardegna, is pleased to host the 18th Edition of the PhD Day in Medical, Surgical and Experimental Sciences — an annual event dedicated to highlighting the scientific research carried out by PhD students and fostering dialogue among young researchers, faculty, and institutions.

The event will take place on October 31st, 2025, from 09:00 to 14:00, at the Aula Magna A of the "Orto botanico di Piandanna - Lotto 2" Complex, University of Sassari.

The day will begin at 09:00 with greetings from academic and institutional authorities, including the Rector, Prof. Gavino Mariotti, and the Directors of the involved Departments.

At 10:00, Prof. Franca Deriu, Full Professor of Physiology, will deliver the Keynote Lecture titled:

"Publishing ethics and integrity: lessons learnt from an ORP (Old Researcher in Physiology)"

The morning will continue with a discussion session followed by the poster presentations from first- and second-year PhD students (cycles XL and XXXIX), evaluated by a faculty committee. A coffee break will also be included.

The event will conclude with oral presentations by PhD students from Cycle XXXVIII, moderated by Prof. Gaia Rocchitta and Prof. Matteo Spinelli, offering a platform for in-depth discussion of ongoing research projects.

The event is open to students, researchers, faculty members, and all those interested.
