Third Mission

Alongside its two core missions of Education and Research, the Department of Biomedical Sciences (DBS) is strongly committed to Third Mission activities, with the goal of disseminating knowledge and research outcomes to foster the social, cultural, and economic development of society.

At DSB, the valorization of knowledge is articulated through two main strategic lines of action:

• Economic valorization of knowledge: creation of spin-offs, intellectual property management, third-party contracts and agreements
• Cultural and social mission: lifelong learning, public engagement activities, and public health initiatives
