On March 20, 2026, the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Sassari will host a new edition of UniStem Day, the international event dedicated to high school students and to science communication in the field of stem cell research.

The initiative, promoted by the UniStem Center of the University of Milan and now in its eighteenth edition, involves dozens of universities and research institutes around the world simultaneously. Its aim is to bring young people closer to scientific research and to explain what it means to be a researcher today.

The morning program, starting at 9:00 a.m. in Lecture Hall C of the Botanical Garden complex (via Piandanna, Second Lot), will include institutional greetings, live connections with other participating institutions, and a series of talks focused on the role of stem cells in biomedical research and new therapeutic perspectives. Topics will include the fundamentals of stem cell research, career paths in science, and new frontiers in research at the intersection of biology and medicine.
